TEKWUN THE DJ: hmmm..where do i begin? well my parents had sex and then.....hahaha anyways, I got into music at a very early age, I came from two generations of djs in my family, so I just grabbed the torch and hauled butt with it...started djing at the age of 10, I did my first party for my cousin qiana.. and just kept going from there....it wasnt til high school that i started to take this serious....later on in life i linked up with the urban sounds camp (dj kwest, dj northstarr, and erox) who took me into their fam and from then on it was history....so basically ive been djing for about 20 yrs....taught a few people in the game some things (shot out to dj ambition) and just love djing for the art and love of the game (so what i got serato, i was tired of lugging crates to parties, besides, ive done my time with records...but dont get it twisted, i will kick dat on vinyl also!!) now you can hear me live in the mix every thursday from 1 to 3 pm on 91.3 wvkr...throwback sessions, live every Tues 5-8pm on www.theleaguedjs.com, so come check it.....
TEKWUN THE PRODUCER: started making beats at the age of 12, my boy power source (currently away...look out for him in the next year or so) taught me how to write 16's, when before i was writing full page rhymes and thinkin i was the s***...he also taught me how to program drums, and sequence my tracks, (yes, all at the age of 12) so i gotta dedicate this portion of my bio to him, without him, id probably be basket weaving or something....i almost forgot...there were also plenty of times that me and my cousin "da ibn" would waste long summer nights on the patio back in the skills...creating beats and workin on what would become our debut albums..(which would never materialize) and then we came up with the plan that would be the first salvo fired in starting up a crew...which was amptly titled.."p.h. productions"..properly named after our uncle who had a "pidgon head"..it wasnt till i got out of the navy and hooked up wit my boy erox that i discovered my passion for beat making (no homo...homos!!) so with similar styles and taste for music, we formed the "soul city" cliq...be on the lookout for our album.
TEKWUN THE MC: started rappin after i heard "stick em" by the fat boys....and the rest is history...... TEKWUN THE CEO: started my crew "TeksBook Entertainment" back in 2002....i originally had 3 members.... da ibn, rapwell, and expo (rest in peace) then the team grew to a few more, adding my sister "lady", "iz-real","sure shot", and :"J.Stormz", from ny and baltimore. Shot out to everyone who supported me and my endeavors throughout my life, all those who kept it real, yours truly Tekwun....
